Debayan Deb, a leading biometrics expert, is officially appointed as Chief AI (Artificial Intelligence) Scientist at TECH5, an innovator in the field of biometrics and digital identity management. His focus will be on advancing new NN (Neural Network)-based technologies across three core biometric modalities: face, fingerprint, and iris.
Prior joining as a Chief AI Scientist, Mr. Deb has been continuously advancing TECH5’s innovation in neural network-based biometric technologies, focusing on facial, fingerprint, and iris recognition modalities. Dr. Deb was also instrumental in TECH5’s recent AI based biometric algorithm victories in NIST FRVT, IREX, and PFT.
Since entering the biometrics field in 2015, Dr. Deb has dedicated his career to the advancement of state-of-the-art automated biometric recognition systems. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in computer science with a specialization in biometrics, awarded by Michigan State University in 2021. Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Deb served as Technology Lead at LENS, a company at the forefront of AI research.
